Patriotic… Cowboy Hat!

I’ve never really been much for holidays, and it doesn’t take much extravagant patriotism to weird me out, so you can imagine how excited I get about the 4th of July.

Woo. Hoo.

That being said, I do rather like America.  Sure, we’ve go our problems.  The economy is so murky we may as well just give in and start a barter economy based on the debris from the manufacturing sector.  The Congress can’t find it’s own ass with both hands and a flashlight.  Firefly still hasn’t made a proper comeback.  But still, there’s a lot to love here.

Day 2 – From Milwaukee to Gillette, WY

Today was a lot of driving. ‘The rest of Wisconsin, straight across southern Minnesota, straight through South Dakota, and into Wyoming.  Something like 14 hours on the road. But, all was not lost, for I at long last ventured to…. The Corn Palace.

I’m not exactly sure what the story here is (the ladies at the counter scowled at me when I walked by), but the end result is that there is a large building in Mitchell, South Dakota that is completely covered on the outside and much of the inside with ears of Corn. Really, I should just let the pictures do the talking here:
